There are three different names that you may hear in reference to card games. They are: “trading card games” or TCG, “customizable card games” and “collectible card games” or CCG. Online Poker: All About Internet Poker
In the poker industry, we all have witnessed incredible growth over the last few years. Many people are making big money during this boom in the industry. Let's see the ways creative business people have made big bucks during this poker boom.
First, let's look at why we are seeing this incredible growth. There were 3 separate events that created the growth in people hitting the poker tables. Alright, listed in order, this is what happened that led to the growth in poker.
It all begins in 1994 when poker player Henry Orenstein designed, and patented, the technology for the the hole card camera. This allows viewers to see the pocket cards that the players have while the hands are being played out. The beginning for "pocket cam" happened in 1997 on The Late Night Poker Show, in England.
Poker had been on TV since the 70's, however few people were watching. It wasn't very interesting watching poker because not seeing the hole cards the players were holding, you were guessing what the players thinking. This clever device made viewing poker on TV much more interesting.
